Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-17

1. Who we are and what the service is

OpenOSINT Monitor (the "service") is provided by Tommaso Bertocchi, Trieste, Italy ("we", "us"). Contact: support@openosint.tech.

The service regularly runs automated checks on domains you add: email authentication, TLS, security headers and newly registered lookalike domains. It keeps the results, shows what changed since the last scan, and can email you alerts.

2. Accounts

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your mailbox secure. You must give a real email address you control.

3. Acceptable use

  • You may add only domains that you own or are authorized to manage.
  • We verify ownership with a DNS TXT record, and check it again before every scan. If the record is removed, scanning pauses.
  • You must not use the service to target, probe or harass third parties, or to learn about domains you do not control.
  • You must not try to bypass the verification, rate limits or other protections, or disrupt the service.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, with or without notice when needed to protect others.

4. Free and paid plans

There is a free plan and paid plans. What each includes, and the price, is shown on the pricing page. Prices are in US dollars. Taxes (VAT or sales tax) may be added at checkout, depending on your country. We may change plans and prices for the future; a price change does not affect a period you already paid for.

5. Payments

Paid plans are sold through Gumroad, which acts as reseller and merchant of record. Gumroad charges your card, handles taxes, invoices, renewals, failed payments and cancellations, and gives payment support. Gumroad's own terms apply to the purchase.

6. Renewal and cancellation

Paid plans renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

7. Refunds

See the refund policy: 14 days money-back on the first payment of a paid plan.

8. No warranty

Results are automated checks of public information. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. They are not a security audit and do not promise that a domain is secure or insecure. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or lost data, or for decisions you take based on the results. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including consumer rights you have under mandatory law.

OpenOSINT Diligence

These points apply when you use OpenOSINT Diligence (company reports), free or paid, in addition to the rest of these terms.

  • Professional use only. Diligence is for business and professional use. By using it you confirm that you act in a professional capacity and not as a consumer. Analyst plan purchases are business-to-business.
  • Signals from public sources, no warranty. A report is a set of informational signals compiled from third-party public sources: GLEIF, Companies House, SEC EDGAR, Certificate Transparency logs (crt.sh), the OFAC SDN and UK sanctions lists, GDELT news (when enabled), and public DNS and domain data. We give no warranty that a report is accurate, complete or timely. A source can be unavailable, late or wrong; each report says what was checked.
  • Not a verdict, not advice. A report is not a credit rating, not a prediction that a company will become insolvent, and not legal, financial or investment advice. It is not a finding of wrongdoing. You must not make a report the sole basis for any decision.
  • Your own compliance duties stay with you. Diligence does not replace your own KYC/AML, sanctions-compliance or due-diligence obligations. Sanctions results are name-based possible matches that need human review against the list entry. The absence of a match is not confirmation that an entity is not sanctioned.
  • Your use of reports. You are responsible for how you use a report and for following the laws that apply to your use of the information. Check the original sources before relying on a signal.
  • Limitation of liability for Diligence. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, business, opportunity or data, arising from Diligence. Our total liability for any claim about Diligence is limited to the fees you paid for Diligence in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 100 if you use the free plan. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury.
  • Enter companies and their domains only. Do not use Diligence to look up individuals.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the service before it applies. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.
